What is it about Cleopatra that makes me in “awe” of this woman? First off people tend to think of the stereotypical. Cleopatra’s beauty, how she was willing to sleep with anyone to have her way. This isn’t true by a long shot. First off Cleopatra was well educated taught by the finest scholars. She spoke nine different languages, had a sense of humour, and wanted to reclaim what once was Alexandria.

Cleopatra reigned with dignity, poise, and fairness. She wanted countries to still have their own vibrance and uniquity without changing their policy of lifestyle. Adopted as “Isis” Cleopatra is accepted as an Egyptian. Cleopatra displayed style, grace, and humility among other countries which gave Cleopatra “Respect” among others.

Which of course made others jealous of this Regal Intelligent Goddess not to mention Cleopatra was a woman, among a class of “Noble Men”. Cleopatra conveyed what many sought, but made ruling unobtainable for a man to even grasp.

Men knew bloodshed, overthrowing, and destroying anything in their path. Using blunt force in order to gain the respect they wanted, which was the direct opposite of Cleopatra’s method.

Another point I’d like to mention is Cleopatra didn’t kill herself over a man. After Cleopatra had realized she wasn’t going to reclaim Alexandria, Cleopatra was heartbroken everything she had built was virtually taken away, nor did Cleopatra want to be displayed as a slave. At 39 Cleopatra requested for an asp to be placed in her fruit basket, from their she took her own life.
